We have a joint MBSI and AMICA chapter meeting planned for August 31 at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, CA. This is a wonderful museum full of memorabilia and very interesting information on all of the different musical instruments being displayed. They have done a wonderful job remodeling and updating the entire museum. There is an Ampico grand player piano and a 1900? 65/88 note upright player displayed. Also of interest are two unidentified music boxes. I’m hoping that one of our members can identify them so the museum can update the display. If we have 10 or more people we will be able to have a docent accompany us for a more detailed explanation of the instruments. Please RSVP to Robin Biggins by Friday August 23rd. Admission is $15, or $10 for seniors, 60+.
