This year’s annual Sanfilippo holiday party in Barrington, IL, will be held Saturday, Dec. 13. It will include a holiday concert with organist, Nathan Avakian and soloist Clare Avakian. Doors will open at 3:30 PM. Docents will play instruments, take requests, tell stories and answer questions. Coins will be out for fun in the penny arcade. Visit the streetscape of the Perfume Passage. Steam engines will be demonstrated and theatre organ chamber tours will be given from the theatre, right of stage. After dark, the celebration moves to the Carousel Pavilion, home of the 1890 Eden Palais salon carousel and 24 fairground, dance, and street organs.
A social hour with wine, soft drinks and music awaits our arrival. We will enjoy a buffet holiday dinner as dance organs play in the background. Festivities continue with holiday arrangements on the larger organs and the “Battle of the Biggest”, Jasper’s favorites: the 110-key Gavioliphone fairground organ and the Wurlitzer 180 military band organ. The night wouldn’t be complete without rides for all on the Eden Palais carousel
with the music of its 89 key Gavioliphone.
