Membership is open to everyone who shares an interest in the preservation and enjoyment of automatic musical instruments.

Do you own an instrument? Would you like to learn about the design, history, or mechanics of these machines? Do you have an instrument needing repair? Do you know the value of that family heirloom? Or are you just fascinated with these examples of a bygone era where art and music, ingenuity and craftsmanship were blended into beautiful artifacts which could play music in our homes? By joining MBSI you will be able to make contact with professional and amateur specialists who will provide help, advice, and information on almost anything pertaining to mechanical music.  There is nothing like standing next to a fellow enthusiast who can give you personal and accurate advice.

We hope to welcome you as a member of MBSI and that we can help you learn about and enjoy one of the most fascinating and satisfying hobbies ever to exist.

MEMBER BENEFITS
A subscription to Mechanical Music, published bimonthly, covering the entire field of mechanical music. You'll find articles on history, mechanisms, restoration tips and techniques and interesting discoveries. QUESTIONS

How do I join using Paypal?
Paypal will accept your credit (or debit) card information through their secure website and transfer the funds directly to the MBSI account. This is done very safely using encrypted technology that has been proven to be very safe. To join using Paypal, you will start from our application page and make your choices from those in the Paypal section, Click on the "View Cart" button to go to the secure Paypal site, to give your credit card information. Once that is complete, you will be returned to the MBSI application page where you will submit your completed application directly to MBSI by clicking on the "submit" button near the bottom of the page.  Make sure you have provided matching email addresses to both Paypal and MBSI.org.

Is it safe to use a credit card on the internet?
When secure pages are used, all the information that is transferred over the internet, is sent in an encrypted mode. By doing this, any interception of these transmissions would be of no use to anyone. Encrypting these signals, make this the safest possible way to do business on the internet. Paypal has been doing credit card business over the web for a long time with an excellent record. Using this system, your credit card information is delivered, by you, directly to Paypal with no stops or records kept in between. Emailed receipts are issued from Paypal immediately after the transaction.

How fast is my application accepted?
Once the Paypal transaction receipt email is delivered to you and MBSI and the application form is submitted from the MBSI.org website, You are a member.
 

MEMBERSHIP DUES
A membership includes up to two adults and immediate family living in one household. New members receive the Directory of Members, Museums and Dealers, a Goods and Services order form, Lending Library list, and regional chapter information.
